Doula Services Tailored to You
Comprehensive doula support in Augusta, Georgia
A birth doula is a trained professional who provides physical, emotional, and informational support to a person before, during, and shortly after childbirth. Doulas do not perform clinical tasks or make medical decisions. A doulas role focuses on helping you feel safe, supported, and empowered throughout the birth process. Doulas may offer comfort measures such as breathing techniques, massage, and positioning suggestions, as well as guidance and reassurance for both the birthing person and their partner. A doula will make sure you are listened to and respected during your birth and will make sure you know your options at every turn. Research has shown that having a doula can lead to more positive birth outcomes, including reduced rates of interventions and increased satisfaction with the birth experience.

A Postpartum Guide and Newborn Expert
What is a Postpartum Doula?
A postpartum doula guides families in providing educational, emotional, and physical support in the postpartum period. The primary role of a postpartum doula is non-medical support of the new parent in recovery after birth. We as doulas have knowledge in physically and emotionally recovering from birth, hormones, postpartum mood disorders, and nutrition. The secondary role of a postpartum doula is to take care of the baby and/or house. Doing any baby care or household duties is to aid in the recovery and rest of the new parents.

What is a Newborn Care Specialist?
Newborn Care Specialists are trained and experienced in all things related to newborns. NCS's offer guidance and instruction to new parents - from feeding and sleep schedules to diapering and that first bath. The primary role of a Newborn Care Specialist is to take care of your baby with expert knowledge and to share that knowledge with you so you feel prepared.

My training and experience as a postpartum doula and newborn care specialist has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support you in recovery and empower you on your journey.

Daytime Support
Daytime support can vary based on what you need on any given day. Whether it be processing your birth while you hold baby and I fold clothes, or I feed baby while you take a much needed shower, my main goal is to be a calming and empowering presence. My hope is also to leave you with a cleaner house or a warm meal. Daytime support is a minimum of 3 hours and a maximum of 6 hours.
Investment: $35/hr

Overnight Support
Overnight support typically focuses on caring for the baby so that you can get some sleep. We will create an overnight feeding plan which could include bringing baby to you in bed to breastfeed or using breastmilk or formula for bottle feedings. I will provide evidence-based information on schedules and feeding, plus help you establish a sustainable sleep rhythm for your family.
Overnight visits are 9-10 hours.
